High Profile Japanese Government delegation visits Sri City

Sri City, August 24, 2021:- A high-level Japanese Government delegation comprising Mr. Shingo Miyamoto, Minister, Head of Economic Division, the Embassy of Japan, New Delhi, Mr. Hosaka, Second Secretary, Embassy of Japan, and Mr. Odagawa Hajime, Consul, Consulate-General of Japan in Chennai, visited Sri City on Tuesday.

On their arrival at Business Centre, the visiting dignitaries were accorded a warm reception by Mr. Ramesh Subramaniam, President, Sri City Foundation. The delegates were given a detailed presentation on the unique features of the integrated business city, its world-class infrastructure and brisk pace of development, existing investor-friendly ecosystem, and specific advantages of setting business in Sri City, including the financial incentives offered by state government.

Mr. Sakamoto, Chairman, Isuzu Motors India (IMI), Mr. Iwami, MD, IMOP, Mr.Yamaguchi, MD, Toray, and Mr. Hirano, MD, PIOLAX took part in the meeting with the visiting dignitaries.

Terming Sri City a ‘wonderful place’, Mr. Shingo Miyamoto stated that they all were allured with the world-class infrastructure, business friendly ambiance and the potential business opportunities at Sri City.

Annotating on the visit of the Japanese officials, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City said, ”As of now, 15% of our customers are from Japan with an aggregate investment of 1.3 billion US dollars, and thus Sri City emerged as the second largest ‘investment destination’ for Japanese companies in India. The favourable business environment here, coupled with world class infrastructure, talent pool and support from both the state and central governments, etc., will certainly impress them. We are confident, their visit will pave way for some more investments from the small, medium and large scale companies of Japan.”

The intent of their visit is to learn about the complete supporting facilities and services that are offered by Sri City, Which is one of the largest manufacture cities in India. Sensing a big manufacturing opportunity in India and an endorsement for the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ vision, Japanese companies target India as one of the hottest next destination to set up their manufacturing base. As part its visit to Southern India for assessing the investment opportunities, the delegation arrived in Sri City. During the briefing session, they all evinced keen interest and quizzed on different aspects of Sri City. The team went round the campus and visited the production units of Isuzu Motors India and Toray.
