Consul General of Japan visits Sri City

Sri City, September 14, 2020 :- Mr. TAGA Masayuki, Consul General of Japan in Chennai visited Sri City on Monday. Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City extended a warm welcome.

Briefing on the investment opportunities and the specific advantages of doing business in Sri City, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy said, ”Sri City is considered as ‘mini Japan’, since it is home for 24 Japanese companies in diversified sectors, including the automobile OEMs several prominent brands in different fields, such as automobile, engineering, logistics, etc.,”

“With the presence of 187 industrial units, Sri City emerged as the busiest investment destination in the country, and we have created right environment. Also, we have developed a Japanese enclave, in which most of the Japanese companies are located. The cumulative investment by all these Japanese industries totals to about Rs.9,500 crores, creating employment opportunities for over 10,000 persons. We are confident to attract some more small, medium and large scale companies from Japan,” he added.

Expressing satisfaction at the first class infrastructure being provided to the Japanese industries, the Consul General said,”I am impressed with the progressive development seen at Sri City. I consider it as one of the best places to do business.” He expressed confidence that many more Japanese companies from different sectors will show interest in Sri City.

The purpose of Consul General‘s visit was to witness the existing infrastructure at the multi-product Integrated Business City and gain first hand knowledge of its business potential and the progress achieved. Mr. TAGA Masayuki took over as Consul General very recently. Earlier he has served in the same capacity in Kolkata. During the briefing session, the Consulate General evinced keen interest and inquired on different aspects of Sri City. The senior managers Toray and Isuzu industries were also present at the meeting and gave a positive feedback on the business friendly attitude of Government of AP and Sri City. Following the briefing session, he went around the campus and visited the production units of Isuzu and Unicharm, and the Daiki, which is under construction phase.
