College Connect Vikasa Varadhi team visits Sri City

Sri City, February 17, 2019: A team of around 200 engineering students drawn from 16 colleges across the state, accompanied by about 75 CEOs of industrial entities, who are all the participants of College Connect Vikasa Varadhi Yatra, an ambitious bus journey organised by the Technology Transparency International Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, arrived in Sri City on Saturday evening. Mr. Satish Kamat, President (Operations), Sri City welcomed the students and gave a presentation on the unique features of the industrial park.

Stating about the objective of the programme, Mr. J.A. Chowdary, IT Advisor to the Government of AP and who is leading the team said,”Collage connect initiative was aimed at providing a sustainable bridge (varadhi) for students to get guidance from the industry, create awareness on career opportunities, industry expert connect and building a lifelong mentor-mentee relationship. We aim to provide domain specific orientation to students with mentorship and guidance from new-age entrepreneurs and global CEOs.”

Annotating on the visit, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City said “It is a great pleasure to have the Vikasa Varadhi team in Sri City. The Yatra has a meaningful purpose of helping rural youth get the right direction, knowledge and skillsets, enabling them to encounter challenges. I wish all the Yatris a very prosperous future.” Expressing confidence that such interactions with industry, “Updating the knowledge of students in line with the latest industry developments, will really bridge the gap between the Academia and Industry,” he opined.

Following the interactive briefing session, they went round the industrial park and visited the production units of Bergen Pipes, Vital Papers and Venture.

The college connect initiative, called ‘Vikasa Varadhi -One Journey, Many Opportunities’, a 2,000km-voyage of college students that runs for over 10 days, will have various pit-stops across the state. The aim of the marathon journey is to bridge the gap between Academia & Industry, get the participants first-hand insight on the industry and give an opportunity to interact with industry experts. The journey, which was flagged off from Chittoor on February 14, is scheduled to culminate into an interactive session in Vizag on February 20th
