AP Labour Minister reviews ESI services in Sri City vicinity

Sri City, June 9, 2020:- Mr. G. Jayaram, Minister For Labour & Employment, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh visited Sri City on Tuesday for reviewing the status and availability of the Employees’ state Insurance (ESI) services to the industrial workers in the region. Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City thanked the Minister for visiting Sri City and said,”The visit reflects the strong impetus and seriousness of the government on the workers’ welfare and also its commitment to set up of a 100 bedded ESI hospital for benefitting a large number of industrial workers and their families in the region.”

For making the existing ESI dispensaries at Satyavedu and Varadaiahpalem functional Sri City MD requested the Minister to arrange for filling the vacancies on a priority basis. Also, he requested to consider the possibility of strengthening the ESI dispensaries existing at Tada and Sullurupeta, where a sizeable population of Sri City industrial workers reside.

After the reviewing the status, the Minister promised that soon the vacancies at ESI dispensaries will be filled and also up-gradation of the dispensaries will be recommended. “Necessary requisition will be made to government to allot 10 acres of land near Tada for constructing a 100 beaded hospital, with a scope to upgrade it as a super speciality hospital with 300 beads in due course,” he added. He requested all the industrial units to obtain identity cards for all their employees and create awareness amongst them about the ESI scheme.

Dr. Ravikumar, Joint Director, ESI, Kadapa, Mr. Srinivasulu, Joint Commissioner, Department of Labour, Kurnool, Mr. Murthy, OSD to Minister and Mr. Ramesh Kumar, Vice President (Customer Relations) were present in the review meeting.
