High Level Japanese Business Delegation visits Sri City

Sri City, May 25, 2016 :- A 50 member high profile business delegation from Japan, led by Mr. Seiji Takagi, Director General, Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI) visited Sri City on Wednesday. Mr. Ramesh Subramaniam, President, Sri City Foundation extended a warm welcome and gave a presentation on the infrastructure, unique features and the brisk pace of development.

Expressing satisfaction on the available infrastructure and location advantage, Mr. Seiji Takagi said, “I am impressed by the potential of Sri City.

” Mr. Naoyoshi Noguchi, Chief Director General, JETRO, New Delhi said,”I am happy to see the brisk development of Sri City. It is the ‘number one’ industrial park in India.”

The intent of the visit was to witness and gain first-hand knowledge about the industrial park, assess its business potential and explore the possibility of setting up industries. During the briefing session, they all evinced keen interest and quizzed on different aspects of Sri City. Later the delegation had a glimpse of the industrial zone and visited the plant of Isuzu Motors India.

Mr. Anil K. Choudhary, Development Commissioner, Sri City SEZ, Mr. Mr. Rajendra Reddy, Joint Chief Environmental Engineer, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB), Kurnool, Mr. Ramalinga Raju, General Manager, District Industries Centre and Mr. Pratapa Reddy, Zonal Manager, Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APPIIC) and Executive Officer, Industrial Area Local Authority (IALA), Sri City were also present on the occasion.

The Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), which operates under METI and fosters the growth of Japanese companies outside Japan, coordinated the visit. The members of the delegation included CEOs and senior executives of leading Japanese Industries and business corporations such as, Sumitomo Corporation, Internet Initiative Japan Inc., Mizuho Bank, Ltd., Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO), Oriental Consultants India Pvt. Ltd., Toshiba Corporation, Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development, Nippon Signal Co., Ltd., and a host of senior Japanese government officials.
