Blood donation camp held in Sri City under ‘Swachchta Pakhwada’ programme

Sri City, November 15, 2022: As part observing ‘Swachchta Pakhwada-2022’, the Development Commissioner’s (DC) office of Sri City SEZ organised a blood donation camp on Tuesday in collaboration with Sri City Foundation and Indian Red Cross Society, Nellore. The Camp was inaugurated by Mr. S. Madhu Babu, Specified Officer, DC Office in the presence of Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City, Mr. D.S.N. Rao, Asst. Development Commissioner, Mr. K. Rama Rao, Authorised Officer, Mr. Bharath Kumar, Preventive Officer and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Madhu Babu said,”In line with the call given by the Government of India, under ‘Swachchta Pakhwada’ campaign we have organised the blood donation camp.  Initiatives of this kind make people aware of how they can save the lives of patients who need blood transfusion, through this small service.”

Accentuating the importance of voluntary blood donation, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy appreciated all the donors, and said, “Blood donation is a life-saving process and I greatly appreciate you all  for coming forward to be a part of this noble service.”

The camp began at around 10 a.m. and continued up to 2.30 pm, with a steady stream of donors throughout the day. The camp marked a huge success with more than 180 volunteers, drawn among the industrial employees of SEZ donating blood.

A team headed by M. Madhusudhana Rao, PRO, Indian Red Cross Society, Nellore conducted the camp. Sri City Foundation officials coordinated the arrangements. Ramesh Kumar, Vice President (Customer Relations), Sri City, Ramesh, Security Chief, Surendra Kumar, Sr. Manager, Sri City Foundation and others were present.
