AP Industries Minister Goutham Reddy visits Sri City

Sri City, February 14, 2020:- Mr. Mekapati Goutham Reddy, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Commerce, IT, and Skill Development & Training, AP Government visited Sri City on Friday. Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City extended a warm welcome and gave a detailed presentation on the world-class infrastructure and the brisk pace of development of Sri City. Mr. B. Durga Prasad, Member of Parliament, Mr. K. Adimulam and K. Sanjeevaiah, MLAs accompanied the Minister.

Mr. Goutham Reddy appreciated the initiatives taken by Sri City management in developing such a large industrial park and creating large employment opportunities in a backward area. Impressed with the infrastructure and industry-friendly ambiance of Sri City, he Said,”Under the new industrial policy, to attract more investments into the State, we are seriously working on the plan of developing three or four large industrial parks on the benchmark created by Sri City.”

The minister went round the industrial park and visited the production units of Foxconn and MSR Garments and interacted with the workers. He had an interactive session with the CEOs of unit and noted some of the issues related payment of incentives. He urged them not to get misled with the misconception on the policy of employing 75% local’ and explained the government plans for developing quality workforce by imparting skills through training. The minister had a meeting with a delegation of Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO).

Director of Industries Mr. J. Subramanyam, Chittoor District Collector Mr. Bharath Gupta and a host of senior officials of State Government were present in the meeting.

The Minister paid a visit to the industrial park to take part in the plant inauguration ceremony held at Toray Industries (India), as chief guest.
