AP CM inaugurates NovaAir production plant in Sri City`

Sri City, January 27, 2022- AP Chief Minister Mr. Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy declared the air separation plant of NovaAir Technologies Private Limited (“NovaAir”), a subsidiary of Novo Holding, Singapore inaugurated in Sri City in virtual mode from CM office, Tadepalli on Thursday.

Mr. Roy Chowdry, Director, NovaAir, Mr. K. Adimulam, MLA, Satyavedu, Mr. Harinarayana, District, Collector, Chittoor, Joint Collector, Mr. Raja Babu, senior officials of State Government, Mr. Ravindra SannaReddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City, and a host of other invitees were present in Sri City.

Addressing the gathering the Chief Minister said,”I congratulate the NovaAir team for commissioning the large scale oxygen plant in a short span of 14 months. I am also glad to note that it provides employment opportunity for over 150 people.” The CM thanked the MD, NovaAir for setting up the plant and augmenting the oxygen production in the state during the present covid crisis.

Welcoming the Chief Minister and other Senior officials, Mr. Gajanan Nabar, MD & CEO, NovaAir thanked the the Hon’ble Chief Minister for sparing time to inaugurate the plant, in spite of his busy schedule. Acknowledging the support and encouragement received from the state government he said,”It is noteworthy and a testament to the success of the single window clearance mechanism of the Andhra Pradesh Government when we look at the quick timeframe for the necessary approvals and clearances to NovaAir. The complete turnaround time to operations too has been equally phenomenal. This, despite the fact that the Covid-19 pandemic was raging across the state at the time, clearly demonstrates the synergies between the departments. The District authorities, APIIC, Industries Department and Sri City management have played a critical role in ensuring that this record timeline of NovaAir has fructified. I convey our gratitude to all of them for extending excellent support and guidance for the speedy commissioning of the unit. Last but not least, the ‘never say die’ enthusiastic NovaAir crew, who is highly committed to succeed in serving the consumers and community at large, along with our contractors and workers have braved not only covid but also cyclonic weather to complete the project.”

“Our immediate goal is to establish best in class safety and reliability standards while making great advances in green sustainable initiatives. We would be mitigating 50% of our energy needs with renewable energy in the medium term. We sincerely hope that this plant serves in making our customers more productive and sustainable. Commenting on the occasion Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy said,”This is the very first major event of Sri City during the year in which the Hon’ble CM is taking part, though virtually, and on behalf of the Sri City community I convey my sincere gratitude. I congratulate Mr. Gajanan Nabar and the entire NovaAir team for commissioning the plant in a record time.

Stating that NovaAir is the very first major integrated industrial gas company that has responded to the AP government’s new policy, viz., ‘Industrial Gases and Medical Oxygen Manufacturing Policy, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy said,”So as to strengthen the state government’s plans for rapidly augmenting the oxygen production in the state, the company has set up the plant on a war-footing.”

“In SriCity, While a major liquid Oxygen storage tank manufacturing plant of VRV was set up during the tenure of Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy as CM, today a large scale oxygen production company came into existence, and both are considered as boons during the covid crisis,” he added.

NovaAir, an integrated industrial gas company with interests in atmospheric gases (oxygen, nitrogen, argon) has set up the plant at an investment of Rs. 130 Cr. It will focus its production in the making of Medical Oxygen, Liquid Oxygen, Liquid Nitrogen & Liquid Argon. The plant which offers employment opportunity for 150 people, has a capacity to produce 250 tons of these gases per day.

This is the first project of NovaAir in India. It will produce significant quantity of medical oxygen which will certainly help the region to tied over the covid wave. Further it would provide all required industrial gases to industries located in Sri City snd neighbouring regions, across different sectors, including health care, pharma, metals, auto, telecom, tires, general fabrication, aerospace, infra. equipments, etc., NovaAir has plans to built more such plants in the country.
