Sri City, November 10, 2016:- As a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, office of the Development Commissioner (DC), Sri City SEZ took up ‘green & clean’ programme at the upper primary school in Cherivi on Thursday. Mr. S.K. Samal, ITS, Development Commissioner, Sri City SEZ was the chief guest of the event. Mr. Selvaraj, Head Master of the school along with the students extended a warm welcome to Mr. Samal.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Samal underscored the importance of clean and green campaign and urged the students to keep the school premises and their residences clean.
Mr. Samal gave away prizes to the winners and runners up of the essay writing and elocution competitions held.
More than ninety students, teaching staff, officers and staff of DC’s office, a team of Sri City officials actively participated in the programme. Mr. A.S. Rao, General Manager, Sri City administered a pledge by all the participants of the programme that they all keep their surroundings clean. The students cleaned the surroundings, removed weeds, waste materials and boulders, and planted saplings. The event was coordinated by Sri City Foundation.
