‘Kalam Sandesh Vahini’ in Sri City

Sri City, August 24, 2017:- ‘Kalam Sandesh Vahini: Vision 2020,’ a bus dedicated to carry the life and message of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, on its way to New Delhi, arrived at Sri City on Thursday. Students & teachers of local Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Sri City officials received the ‘Sandesh Vahini’ at the threshold of Sri City, and led it to the school campus, in a procession.

The bus, jointly designed by House of Kalam and Chinmaya Mission is a project to spread the message of Dr. Kalam, making people aware of his contribution to the educational and scientific growth of the nation. The mobile exhibition depicts the early life, education and different phases and accomplishments at ISRO, including Pokhran II in which Kalam played a major role.

A large number of students of Chinmaya Vidyalas at Sri City, Tirupati and Nellore, and ZP High School Irugulam, witnessed the display and had an inspiring insight into Dr. Kalam’s life and achievements.

Referring to the miniature models of rockets and satellites displayed in the bus, Mrs. Hemalatha, Principal, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Sri City, said,”This kind of a demonstration arouses curiosity among children, especially when the visual appeal is more.”

Kalam Sandesh Vahini, which was flagged off by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi at Rameswaram on July 27 is is expected to reach Rashtrapati Bhavan on the 86th birth anniversary day of Dr Kalam (October 15), covering over 2700 km and travelling through 16 states.
