Director General, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency Visits Sri City

Sri City, May 2, 2019 – Mr. Junghee Hahn, Director General, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) in Chennai, a non-profit organisation working within the aegis of Embassy of the Republic of Korea, along with a team of officials visited Sri City on Thursday. Mr. Ramesh Subramaniam, President, Sri City Foundation extended a warm welcome, and briefed them on the infrastructure, unique features, government’s proactive policies, and the brisk pace of development in Sri City. Citing a few examples, he explained how the industrial park suits well, besides major industries, for the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Thanking Sri City management for arranging the visit, Mr. Junghee Hahn said that they were all totally enthralled with the world-class infrastructure, business friendly atmosphere at Sri City and the proactive industrial policies of AP Government. He said,”We would introduce Sri City’s business potential to the South Korean companies interested in investing in India, and suggest the business delegations to visit Sri City for exploring business opportunities.”

Commenting on the visit, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City said,”KOTRA plays a crucial role to support trade and investment activities between India and Korea, and we are very happy to receive Mr. Junghee Hahn. We are confident, his observations, which are very encouraging, would pave way for more business investments from South Korea.”

“The favourable business environment, coupled with world class infrastructure, talent pool and government support will certainly impress Korean investors to prefer Sri City as business destination in India,” he added.

The purpose of the visit was to witness the existing infrastructure at the mega industrial park and assess its business potential. During the interaction, Mr. Junghee Hahn evinced keen interest and inquired on different aspects of doing business in Sri City. Following the briefing session, the guests visited the production units of Isuzu Motors India and MCNS Polyurethanes India, a 50:50 joint venture of Japan’s Mitsui Chemicals and South Korea’s SKC Polyurethanes Co.
