Chairman of AP Pollution Control Board visits Sri City

Sri City, March 21, 2018:- Mr. B.S.S. Prasad, former IFS, Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) visited Sri City. Mr. Satish Kamat, (Operations), Sri City accorded a warm welcome. Mr. Prasad had an interactive meeting with the HR Managers and Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Managers of all the operational units of Sri City.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy said,”Sri City was built on the dictum of a clean, green, breathe-easy environment ‘to work and live-in’, and it is the first large scale industrial development in the country progressing towards a carbon neutral status.” He also added that Sri City is one of the first few greenfield cities in the country to achieve IGBC gold rating.

Mr. Prasad congratulated Sri City for winning the Indian Green Building Council’s (IGBC) Green City ‘Gold’ rating. He reviewed the pollution control measures being implemented by units and appreciated them for adhering to the norms set by the PCB. He briefed on the new processes and process changes that were introduced recently, and sought feedback from the audience. All of them have expressed that AP PCB is clearing the applications in time, with no harassment.

Mr. Prasad visited some of the units and inspected in person the pollution control measures being implemented. Commemorating his visit he planted a saplings in the lawns of the Business Centre.
