Training courses in progress at Sri City Technical Skill Development Institute

Sri City, May 3, 2019: At the Sri City based Technical Skill Development Institute (TSDI), while a weeklong course in Welding Lab (Master Level course) for Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) for 19 students of Tada concluded on April 30th, the following two courses are in progress.

A batch of 15 Government ITI students from Nellore and Vakadu is undergoing training of CNC & Welding Labs since April 22, and the course is scheduled to be completed by 4th May 2019.

A two-weeks summer vacation training in Micro Soft (MS) Office for 9th & 10th class students of local Government School students, that commenced on April 29 April 2019 is being attended by 38 students. Another batch of 30 more students from those schools will undergo same training from 13th May on wards.

TSDI, which was established in May 2017 with an aim to develop skilled manpower in tune with the demand of the industries, in a tie-up with Siemens and Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), offers skill training to students of high schools, ITIs, Polytechnic & Engineering colleges in the region, in Computer Numerical Control (CNC), Solid Edge (computer aided design) , automobile engineering and welding. Till date, in all trades put together, over 964 students have undergone courses.

Commenting on Sri City’s initiative for setting up Skill Training Centres for the benefit of students in rural region around it, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City said,”So as to bridge the gap between Industry needs and students’ abilities, we took initiative for setting up Skill Training Centres, and each Centre is dedicated for specific areas/trades. As of today there are four such centres, set up in partnership with state government, Siemens, TVS Group and NTR Trust and Japanese industries. It is very heartening to note that they are serving as a model for imparting technical training and skill development to the youth from rural background.”
