Sri City Industrial Safety Conclave Concludes

Sri City, December 21, 2017:- A two-day seminar organised jointly by AP Factories Inspectorate, National SecurityCouncil AP Chapter and the management of Sri City on the theme ‘Building Safety Culture in Industries’ concluded on Thursday. Mr. Neerab Kumar Prasad, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Ministry of Labour, Employment, Training & Factories, Govt. of A.P was the chief guest of the concluding session.

Appreciating the quick growth of Sri City, Mr. Neerab Kumar Prasad termed it as a ‘jewel of Andhra Pradesh’. Addressing the delegates emphasised upon the importance of safety requirements in the factory and insisted for adherence to safety norms. Stating that both Central and State governments are putting efforts to simplify the procedures, he mentioned that all labour laws are being consolidated into four broad codes for reducing compliance hassles for companies. He appealed the delegates to visit the websites of his department and give feedback on the information furnished therein.

Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City said conclaves of this kind promote safety culture, improve process safety and help in achieving zero accident rate. He called upon the Sri City community to inculcate safety as a habit and appealed them to make Sri City an ‘accident-free’ industrial city.

Mr. G. Blkishore, Director of Factories, AP government summarised the proceedings of both the days and thanked the management of Sri City for extending excellent support in organising the event.

The two-day conclave was divided into four sessions, and each was dedicated to specific domains, all encompassing the theme ‘building safety culture’. Each session had a panel of four domain specific experts, drawn from the industry with good experience in sustaining the safety culture.

About 100 delegates from various industrial units located in Sri City and other parts of Chittoor and Nellore districts. at the seminar. As evident from the feedback, all the delegates rated the sessions ‘very useful.’
