Nucleus Satellite breaks ground for dish antennae production unit in Sri City

Sri City, February 5, 2016:- The Chennai based Nucleus Satellite Communications (Madras) Private Limited, a domestic manufacturer of Direct-to-Home (DTH) dish antenna, on Friday laid foundation stone for its production unit in Sri city. Mr. V.Raman, Managing Director & CEO of the company performed the groundbreaking ceremony and performed the pooja.

In Sri City Nucleus proposes to investment Rs.25 crores for setting up the plant in a plot of 8 acres. The plant, which is expected to be ready by this August will produce three kinds of dish antennae – of 45 cm, 60 cm and 100 cm diameter. The unit will employ about 200 people.

Expressing confidence in their company’s growth potential and future business opportunities, Mr. Raman said, “The unique selling point (USP) of Sri City is its world class Infrastructure ‘under one Roof’. Besides, our investment in Sri city was influenced by the vibrant industrial policy of AP under the dynamic leadership of Mr.Nara Chandra Babu Naidu garu. We see a bright feature and hope to cross many milestone in business with our Sri City unit”.

Commenting on the occasion Mr. Ravindra Sannaareddy said,”This is the 3rd groundbreaking event in a row during the past two weeks, and we are very happy to welcome yet another new client ‘Nucleus’ to the electronic manufacturing cluster being developed in Sri City, in line with the Honourable Prime Minister’s ‘Digital India’ initiative.”

Nucleus Satellite Communications, established in 1997, is the largest manufacturer of Ku band dish antennae in India predominantly catering to the DTH market. It sold over 12 million units since inception. They make point-to-point communication antennae, which are exported to the Middle East. Nucleus is the only local dish antennae manufacturer approved by all 6 Indian DTH operators, main clients being Bharti Telemedia (Airtel), Sun Direct, Dish TV and Videocon D2H. The Company has an installed capacity of 3-3.25 million units per annum – more than 2x the size of nearest competitor.
