Sri City creates ‘India Book’ Record for organising largest rally for Industrial Safety

Sri City, March 4, 2020: Sri City sets the record for organising the largest rally for industrial safety in the country, as certified by India Book of Records. On Wednesday, as part of the National Safety Week celebrations, Sri City in association with HR Forum, all the industrial units andAP Government organised a walkathon for educating the stakeholders on the importance of industrial safety. The walkathon had the record turnout of the participants, drawn from all industries right from senior managers to workers, totalling to 5867.

Well before the dawn, all the participating employees gathered on the grounds adjacent to the entry gate, forming in rows and blocks, as per the guidelines of India Book of Records. Exactly at the strike of 7, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director Sri City, Mr. Sivakumar Reddy, Dy. Chief Inspector of Factories, AP Govt., Mr. Muthuraj, Development Commissioners, Sr I City SEZ, and Mrs. Vimalakumari, Dy. SP waved the flag, signalling the start of the walkathon.

In a gathering organised after the rally, Mr. Vivek Nair, Juri, India Book of Records declared,”It is the largest rally for industrial safety with 5867 participants, breaking the previous record with 4000 participants and 3 km walk, and I congratulate the Sri City MD and other participating units.”

Mr. Sivakumar Reddy appreciated the entire Sri City Community for their enthusiastic participation and said,”The grand success of the rally portrays the commitment and the seriousness of the industries towards implementation of safety. I congratulate all the Sri City units for completing a decade of ‘zero accident’ operations by December 2019.”

Overwhelmed with the record created, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy said,”At the outset we all should thank Mr. Sivakumar Reddy for suggesting to organise the ‘Safety Walkathon’. It is a very unique feat, and Sri Citizens could prove their distinction once again by setting up the record. This is the very first instance in which the entire Sri City community came together in such a large scale, and I wish, henceforth this should be an annual event with an increase in participation.”

The rally proceeded along the Central Express Way for about 4 km and culminated at Palmera circle. The participants carried placards and shouted safety slogans enthusiastically, drawing the attention of public on the importance safety at workplace. While Rising Star Mobiles India Limited stood first with highest participation, Isuzu and IMOP came second and third respectively.
